Your enquiry has arrived.

Thank you for your enquiry. A confirmation is on its way to your inbox. On working days I get back to you within 24 hours — with a first assessment of your case.

This enquiry does not yet create a lawyer-client relationship, and no time limit is preserved by it. I will look at your case and come back to you shortly.

If your deadline is tight

If you have not heard from me by the end of the next working day, please call — with a deadline running, never rely on a single inbox: 08091 617 7777

Appointments at the office: Mon–Thu 9–12 and 14–17, Fri 9–12. I also read enquiries in the evenings and at weekends. Outside those hours: 0177 717 1515

What you can get ready now

If you have not sent it already — so that we can start straight away when we speak:

  • The dismissal letter — and, if you still have it, the envelope with the postmark. It can prove the date of receipt, on which the whole deadline is built.
  • Your employment contract with all amendments and variations.
  • Your last three payslips — the value in dispute follows from them.
  • Any written warnings, if there were any.
  • Your legal expenses insurance policy with the policy number. I will handle the coverage enquiry.

One thing to do today

Register as seeking work with the Agentur für Arbeit (the German Federal Employment Agency) — regardless of whether we bring a claim. This duty applies expressly even where the continuation of the employment is being pursued in court (§ 38 para. 1 sentence 3 SGB III, German Social Code Book III). If fewer than three months lie between learning of the end date and the end of employment, you have only three days. Missing it risks a reduction of your unemployment benefit — unnecessary and easily avoided.

You can register online with the Bundesagentur für Arbeit or by telephone. It is a different thing from claiming unemployment benefit and does not replace it.

What has not happened yet

Your enquiry does not yet create a mandate and no claim is pending. I will look at your case and get back to you; if we work together, you will receive a power of attorney from me to sign. Only then can I act for you.

The power of attorney is in German — it is a document for a German court, and a translated version would not be the document that is filed. I will explain what you are signing.

I treat your information in confidence. If no mandate comes about, I delete the enquiry and the documents after 14 days. Details in the privacy notice.
